Discover About UMBVS Sanjeevani
On August 2, 1987, the foundation was laid by Mrs. Shakuntala Goswami along with some colleagues. Over the past three decades, the organization's efforts have been recognized by society and the administration.
To care for the upbringing and education of differently-abled girls, a service journey began with each home selecting one girl child, and then entering the nearby settlements of tribal populations. This service journey gradually expanded, and through this expansion, the Sanjeevani Hostel was established.
In 2018, to facilitate the admission of differently-abled girls into government schools, the organization ensured educational support, housing, and proper living arrangements.
At that time, the government was not granting admission to these girls in schools. So the organization provided proof that the girls were staying in hostels due to financial constraints and lack of support from their families.
After this evidence was presented, the schools admitted the girls. Now, these girls are being reintegrated into society through their education, lodging, and overall development.
Initiative:
Sanjeevani Hostel: Currently, 41 children are studying in government schools in various classes. Their lodging, food, education, medical treatment, and excursions are being provided free of cost by the organization at its own level.
In the newly constructed premises of the institution located in Paratpur village, a free mess is being operated for 50 tribal boys and girls.
Future Plan:
It is proposed to build a hostel and an old age home building in the newly constructed premises of the institution for 100 children.
